Chen Yu: “Mark” is the medium of creation and my object. “Thinking” refers to reflection and suspicion. I think about things that have no source or are unknowable. In the creation, I try to make materials poetic, which are selected from the most everyday objects, and use digital technology to let them produce casual emotions and beauty. In my creation, I do not use too many materials. I’d like to keep the characteristics of materials, return to the original feelings of materials and talk to the viewers at the same time. I explore the critical points between science and art, materials and poetry, self and the public.
