Lin Yi: In my works, I emphasize a kind of repetitive work, which reinforces the identity and status of women's work in daily life. In the endless and meaningless repetition, I experience the boredom of life and the long time. Repetitive elements appear again and again, and even become outrageous. And each piece of rework is not simple and easy, I always choose the way of making trouble, such as knotting, embroidering, needling, weaving, etc, laborious behavior, unlimited repetitive work. In this kind of extremely boring time to kill, in the seemingly dull and do not please painfully way, it suddenly sublimes, tingling in the puzzling vertigo inner emotions, feeling awkwardness and deceasing wisdom. Recently, I began to pay attention to the contingency and sociality of materials, extending from my own life to the relationship between society and myself. With materials in life as carrier, I emphasize elasticity, body, events, subtlety and other issues, and discuss the contradiction between human existence in space and field, family and society on the boundary of contingency and necessity.
