Iron rust is easy to see in everyday life, they are mottled and rough with a very special texture. Initially, I used iron plates as the substrate for my paintings, which are exposed to the air for a long time and will react with the oxygen in the air to produce rust. During the process of painting on the iron plate, the rust will slowly emerge through the paint and interpenetrate with the fabric-like or geometric patterns painted on the iron plate, creating an obscuring relationship with each other. At a later stage, we try to control the shape of the rust, change the depth of the rust, and change the outline of the plate for different combinations of rust, in order to experiment with more possibilities between iron and rust.
