Land, clay and life are infinitely related. Porcelain clay is a kind of purified dust and a new understanding of the land. People under the agricultural civilization are so easy to have emotional connection with the land. For example, when we take the high-speed railway, fields and graves are the main views along the way, but this is the most common connection between people and the land. We can also understand it as the way people choose to connect their own life with nature. Since my father's generation, I have never been to the place where my ancestral home is located. My blood has long been integrated with the blood from north and the south, and has grown and migrated in those unified metropolises. When there is no certain place outside, one’s inside is constant. Clay gives me a place to get on with myself. Both poles of clay lead to eternity: On the one hand, after firing, it becomes a solid existence that is both fragile and can experience time. On the other hand, it can return to the soil it comes from through self-destruction, with an irreversible extension like the life process and a "present" integrated into the eternal change.
