In recent years, my works have been discussing weaving of memories by depicting ordinary moments in life. “The Dew” (2019) is about returning to the familiar places like childhood-home, school, park, station in memory. The vague impression summarizes the scene into symmetrical pillars at the door, grass and trees swaying in the wind, dim buildings in the distance. The interlaced lines are like intertwined memories which clear and chaotic are linked to each other. Painting is not only a record of the recalling process, but also a credential for retracing. You can go back that period again by following it.

“Endless Daydream” (2020) was created in the first half of 2020. After I got used to not going out, my life entered a new pattern of online classes, painting, cooking and long sleep. I began to rethink the meaning of home, the past residence, the school dormitory and the current home. I recalled and recorded the fragments that made me feel the “warmth of home”. The process of painting, a time travel in different homes, is like a endless daydream.

“Big Two-Hearted River” is a novella written by American writer Ernest Hemingway. It tells the story of the protagonist Nick returning to his hometown，camping and fishing in a familiar place. The picture is from the author's 2020 painting "Endless Daydream". The content of the picture is a record of the concretization of thinking about "home", echoing the emotional core of the novel. In this book, the image content in the original painting is dissolved to make its rhythm more prominent. Consistent with the novel, the book is divided into two volumes with a total of 224 pages.

To visualize the fragmented memories that flash in the mind and use it as a signpost to index the feelings that disappear with the passage of time, this behavior is no different from “Mark the Boat for a Dropped Sword”. The images in the book come from the author's painting “The Dew”（2019）. Parts of the picture are selected and reconstructed by superimposing impressions. The text part comes from Emperor Cao Pi's “The Letter to Wu Zhi” and “Another Letter to Wu Zhi”. The text is used as a connection to the repeated memories and forgotten life fragments. The work consists of two books, which are waterprint woodcut and bound by hand-stitching.

“Another Letter to Wu Zhi” （2022）is a reflecting on “The Dew” and “Endless Daydream”. The repeated memories and re-experiences of the past life are in fact a repentance for irreparable regrets. Corresponding to reminiscing about the past is looking forward to reunion. What weaving imagination is the moist smell in the air, the breeze outside the window and the vague light of past experience. I recorded these scenes and feeling, looking forward to the reunion days coming.
