Liu Haichen: Perhaps there is a scene that lingers in each of our memories. Maybe it brings you calm or transports you to a world away from yourself. When I was growing up, the railroad was a place of powerful imagination, a place where I lost my identity and discovered a new person within myself. In a light that never fades, I can speak to myself, my true self, the very spirit of imagination that lets me divorce from reality to view it objectively. These feelings and experiences inspire the images in my work. These are the landscapes of my soul. I hope in them, we can find a quiet space for meditation.
