Ouyang Sulong: I have conducted numerous experiments with materials and subject matter since 2009. The creative process is most easily revealed when working with limited materials and conditions and pursuing unanticipated results. Everything is realized in such exploration. It is during the explorative process that I discover interesting unexpected results. I enjoy such a process because it contains more surprises. Artists need to have a dialogue with their materials and subjects to uncover the feelings that lie beneath everyday expectation.
