Xiao Bin: I was born in the countryside of Hunan Province. I am intimately familiar with fields, farmland, trees, fruit, seeds... This is the landscape of my home. By restructuring these natural subjects, I create my art forms. For me, natural materials are the most important element of my works. I arrange natural objects in patterns, questioning the order of the universe and reflecting on traditional Chinese views of nature and experience. I seek materials that let me create art from nature and more deeply understand the relationships between nature, art and myself.
