Kang Jing: In coloring sculpt ures, a tone of proper colors is usually adopted, as sculptures are three-dimensional and changing environments will naturally endow them with rich light and tone. In these three sculptures, however, I wanted to try something new, so I endowed the sculptures with beams of lightcolored directl y onto their faces. In this way, the sculpture is not only a physical material separated from its background, but also has a permanent light on it. More generally, my work seeks to examine the use of light, color, situational emotion, and ready-made articles in figurative sculpture.
