Wu Minmin: Montage is a widely applied technique in the filmmaking industr y. Elements in a piece of art are like the short sequences of a movie, creating amazing effects when combined, but possibly quite meaningless when seen separately. As Soviet direc tor Sergei Eisenstein put it,"each sequential element is perceived not next to the other, but on top of the other."The effect created by montage can be supplemented by the sequence of watching by the viewers, as well as their idiosyncratic thinking and background. The varied reactio ns of viewers result in different montages.
