Xiao Bin: I am familiar with and have great love for farmland, fields, trees, woods, bamboos, fruits, seeds and other natural materials. Being recycled and recombined, these natural materialspossess the qualities associated with an ar t form.The tension of natural materials is the most important par t of my work, combined in a particular way to showcase some philosophical propositions of the universe. Using natur al objects reflects my traditional Chinese perspective on nature. From natural objects, I not only search for materials for my art creation, but more importantly, I look for traces of life. In them, I find a connection between nature, society, and myself.
