Zheng Dongmei: "To see a World in a Grain of Sand and a Heaven in a Wild Flower, Hold Infinity in the Palm of your Hand, And feel Eternity in an Hour. " This ceramic series of "Wild Flowers" are art works which grow. Theoretically speaking, since new elements could always be added to any part of these works, the "Wild Flowers" could end up becoming enormous things. Constructed of copper wire, glass, and ceramic beads, they focus on the small wild flora that we might so easily have neglected. They also represent how the process of handicraft making, often considered as a practical activity, contains in it something of artistic creation - an element of the unrestrained.
