Du Wenhui: Environmental changes have had a direct impact on my expressions through painting. I focus my attention on minute details or subjects and scenes from daily life, and this has a profound effect on my attitude towards art. I do not strive to find a type of iconic language, nor do I spend too much energy thinking about what form my canvasses should take. I believe that my honest and sincere expression in art is one reason I have never felt lost in my work. Expressed in my work is the idea that people themselves are not so important. The external environment and the events that shape us are the true evidence of our existence. I take great pleasure in recording these details, subjects and scenes using my direct painting style.
