Huang Qiuxia: I have concerned with everything happening in life around me for a very long time, especially those things that I personally experience. In the "Monogatari" series, created in 2012, I try to use objects from daily life, putting them onto the canvas in a way reminiscent of diary writing, hiding some characteristics, so as to enhance knowledge regarding the relationship between man and object. The work is inspired by the traditional crafts of paper cutting and moon cake production. The "Monogatari" series is produced using squeezing cake production methods and taking common fabric drawings from everyday life. The instant I make contact with the canvas, I am become aware of material desires and am led to reflect upon them.
