Li Ming: For me, creating art is similar to the process of pouring different types of water into innumerous empty cups. The emptier the cups, the larger the space for creative thinking will be. It is the "emptiness" of the vessel that decides the ultimate depth of water. Whereas the height of the water's surface, on the other hand, the expressions of content will have a rhythm to the relationships between them. I pursue these rhythmic relationships in my art, as this is where my interests lie, with the "emptiness" as their supporting pillar.
