Liu Shaoyuan: The objects depicted in my works are always simple, yet rich in dynamic details, aiming to create a vacant artistic conception. In his poetry, Su Dongpo writes: "Be static, so you can know the dynamic. Be empty, that you can comprehend all. "This series is not only trying to show the power of nature, but also to take on poetic qualities by mountains, ripples, stones and clouds. Poetry, for me, reflects on extraordinary moments in the life of ordinary objects. It can arouse imagination about mysterious and distant times and spaces. Silent stones can be lofty as mountains, or a calm sea can let forth a fountain of spray. Such are inner landscapes that blend reality with illusion.
