Tang Mingwei: I treat the tracks left behind by machine operations as a type of mechanical emotion, which contains a certain geometric beauty. I try to imitate and restore it, subconsciously bringing control over it.Therefore I try to create a background with similar effects, even bringing back the pleasure of doing math problems and drawing with ruler and compass from my youth into my creative process, to correctly or incorrectly leave tracks that are more active and alive than those formed mechanically. I want to give this pure mechanical form a kind of emotion and rhythm through width of lines the colors that are added. This kind of emotion is sometimes specific and sometimes vague. I hope someone can share this indescribably spiritual experience together with me.
