Wang Huilin: My work is based on scenes in my memory, taking old objects as its foundation. In the work I add new emotional features to the objects depicted, attempting to retrieve truth in both memory and reality. Yet I in my search I can never completely break through the barriers and feeling of distance brought by time, emotion, and thought. I have thus concluded that both "truth" and "reality" are products of the mind. We may approach "reality", but we will never truly reach it. At the same time, in my work I try break the bonds of moral and spiritual shackles, question the era I live in and the education I received, and explore the relationships between time, matter and life.
