Xu Xiaoding: This series of work was created through sculpting paper. In it, multiple layers of paper are employed to represent the unique textures and characters of different cities. The city is the living space for human beings and the site of most human activity. Cities constructed of iron and steel are the unparalleled man-made landscapes of today. In my works, I represent this landscape with layered cut paper revealing the different characters of various cities. Some are young, others may be old, prosperous, or even crazy. Cities are great, they are the greatest achievement of human development. Meanwhile, the future of the city is also worthy consideration, and this is what I aim to show in my work.
