Yang Junjian: My paintings are expanded through "fragmentation", bringing in a timeline of memory. In a two-dimensional plane, I explore the conversion of three-dimensional space; within is contained a combination of memory, imagination and metaphor. I concentrate on expressing objects and surfaces, and break down all objects that I depict, rearranging the objects geometric images as much as possible to show the conflict between rationality and emotion, or between reality and illusion that I seek to depict. I don't strive to create a lofty narrative, but rather find humor in common, small things.
