Yang Xiaojun: In this best and worst of times, all of our bodies are covered with thorns and spines, obedient yet yearning for freedom. We are all individuals, yet we are connected as well. We desire to break through locks and chains, and at the same time fear their breaking; in both seek and oppose protection. The innate wildness of man has been tamed by the restrictions and rules. We live in a way like that described in the film Shaw shank Redemption: "these walls are kind of funny, first you hate them, slowly, you get used to them, and eventually you will find yourself having to rely on them to survive, this is called institutionalization."
