Lee Gwangmin: We like to stroll through gardens or parks and breathe fresh country air as we get away from urban areas. People yearn for their unique personalities. However, strict principles and rules in a fast-moving and monolithic society alwaysgive rise to conflict peoples’ desire to express their true self and their need to keep emotions hidden.

Nature is composed of organic, unstandardized forms and feelings while cities are composed of regular and standardized shapes! I imagine that aesthetic experiences of these two contrasting things can be blended into one harmonized image. While considering methods by which they could be combined, Icame to find that depictions of interior spaces are composed of both fluid and straight lines. Opposites can always be foundin existing harmoniously in the world around us. My work aims todepict spaces in which exposure and concealment coexist, and to reveal images of spaces that cannot be experienced.
