Cao Taiping: There are many huge willows in my studio. The dead branches and leaves are like twilight hero falling down with decades of ups and downs. The twigs hit my shoulder make me feel painful but also make me see the most beautiful scenery I have never seen on its’ old skin. It is also more beautiful than anyone had imagined. I used to practice hand- writing when I was young. I changed the Chinese basic character “艹” with imagination so that it looked like the fence that we could see it everywhere in the village. The fall of the Berlin Wall changed something, but cannot change the plants and animals from each side. The whole world is made of environment, mankind and belief, and I am trying to discover the relationship between them. I keep thinking, reviewing, disagreeing and practicing. However, I never keep finding an easy way to stay still unless the idea what I am chasing for is dead just like my body and mind are all gone with the wind.
