WANG Chaoyong: Most of my works are wood sculptures. Some of them are concrete and romantic, while others are abstract and more conceptual. For me, the relationship between myself and the wood as a material matters. If in a proper way, I and the wood could form a combination that overshadows either me or wood separately. I could feel the power of combination from now to then. I only work with one kind of material because I do not need so many different materials to express my ideas. Wood alone could fully carry my ideas about the art of sculpture.
