Xiao Kai: Sitting in front of the easel, I feel myself free of any unrest, anxiety, confusion … it is peace, only peace out there. Take it as it comes and leave it as it leaves. Reject forcibility while retain persistence - for it takes moderate persistence to make your life meaningful and living-worthy - yet do remember to confine it exclusively to attitude and lifestyle. A loss of completeness and truthfulness is doomed in any elaborate expression and narration, just like it is in any earnest living - we dodge in face of what we have done and what we are doing, though mindlessly. A life of purity and depth cannot be expected until we achieve finally absolute ease facing ourselves, even at the same time keeping private secretes private. He is a real artist who gives way to the hand of pristine surge of intuition and instinct when creating his art.
