Chen Xuanrong: G series is a continuation of Call Me Maybe series, is also the source. I first began to come into contact with subculture is from graffiti. I'm interested in is not graffiti works itself, but the old and the new graffiti covers replacement, the rains washed out the trace of weathering on metope, the passage of time, and all of this and surroundings and the relationship between the city going on... When I arrive a place, I always look for the graffiti on the street and their story, they bring my visual experience completely different from the traditional art in the museum. When painting, l feel my identity constantly switching back and forth between the graffiti writer and bystanders. The content of the graffiti become no longer important, they have become symbols, lines and colors...
