Dealing with the daily simulacral fragment, this new series of paintings by Cai Longfei offers us a boring and dispassionate presentation. The Internet helps the image to surpass the words and become the most important carrier of information in this era. Yet some problems follow with the image gotten from the search engine. For instance, it fails to describe the complete root of information for the image, which makes the image’s contextual relation unclear and hence produce a lot of information fragments. From the search of Internet materials to the production of the image, the consumption of image meaning, to the presentation of image context, the whole process of test keeps redrawing the audience to the original status and focuses on the expression of basic opinion. This is exactly what Cai Longfei always fights for.
