Most of my initial works mainly focus on still-life and convey an orderly but absurd visual sense through reorganization, listing or partial interception of certain materials. There are clear environmental factors in the painting. The painting is as simple and clear as possible. Meanwhile, I used symmetrical and even stark compositions in my paintings to give the audience a quiet visual experience. In my later works, I then gradually focused on the figures. In fact, I just treated people as still life images while painting and tried to avoid portraying facial features and expressions through drawing the model’s back or using the method of omission. I prefer to draw people’s body movement and gestures to reflect the relationship between one person and another and their multiple personalities. The still figures make people feel uneasy. In short, no matter who is the protagonist of my painting, I always try to present their real aspects directly.
