Based on the Olympic will and the physical spectacles, “Black Bohemia” uses physical movement to explore its relationship with spiritual consciousness. It intends to express how standardized movements and individually motivated ones mean different things in the human unconscious, which will lead to confusion in ones value judgement. It draws on the vocabulary of the Olympics. One is a standardized and modeled officially designated movements, another is an alternative, grotesque and metaphysical personal language. The absurdly peculiar collision of the two forces is a way for the spiritual things to be materialized. Under the discipline of the collective will, the individuals compromise, dissolute, decline, and eventually disappear in a fast-paced era. My images are fragments scenes without no linear outlines.The seemingly endless cycle is actually the assimilation of our collective structure. When I stripped off the value structure in movements, but constructed new images, the movement conveyed new meanings and possibilities, taking me to the black Bohemia.
